St. John AME church will host Thanksgiving event The South Atlanta District Lay Organization of the African America Episcopal Church will have its Thanksgiving program Sunday, Nov. 18, at 3 p.m., at St. John AME Church in Fairburn. The theme is "Lay Agenda for a New Century ... New Visions and New Goals." The speaker will be the Rev. Brian A. Hart, pastor of New Grant Chapel AME Church in East Point. Host pastor for the event is the Rev. Keith D.D. Lawrence. The presiding elder will be the Rev. Dr. L. Jerome Jones. St. John AME is at 305 West Campbellton St., Fairburn.
