Medical Assisting Club collecting toys for local children

Clayton College & State University's School of Technology's Medical Assisting Club has started collecting new toys for boys and girls from four months to 16 years old.

The toys will be donated to Christian City Cottages, Georgia Baptist Children's Home and several children shelters.

The collections will run until Dec. 3, so that the club will have time to wrap each toy for the children. During the week of Dec. 3, the toys will be delivered to the various recipient agencies along with Santa Claus and the Chick-fil-A cow.

So far, the following businesses are participating: Atlanta Gas Light Company in Riverdale; Chick-fil-A of Forest Park; Encore Books in Fayetteville; Wachovia Bank in Morrow and Peachtree City; and Wal-Mart of Morrow.

The toy collections represent the second major effort by MAC to brighten children's lives in the past month. In September, MAC took part in a massive effort to collect and donate stuffed animals to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of New York City for children who had lost parents in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on New York.
