Peachtree City Library to observe Veterans Week The Peachtree City Library has announced that they will be observing National Veterans Awareness Week, Nov. 11-17. Events are planned throughout the week. Randy Gaddo, director of leisure services for the city and a retired Marine, will present a program entitled, "Terrorism Revisited: Beirut to New York," Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Room 1 on the lower level of the library. Gaddo will speak about the Beirut bombing in relation to the recent New York and Washington terrorist attacks. Gaddo was a combat correspondent/photojournalist in the Marines and was present when a truck bomb killed 241 Marines and sailors in Beirut. "While the two events differ greatly in magnitude and circumstances, the end effect of devastation and life-changing experiences are similar," he said. The library will also feature daily book displays. A sign-in book will be available for local veterans to sign. A social will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. in the Children's Storytime Room with cookies and beverages. All are invited to attend.
