Live from Senoia....it's a city council meeting By JOHN
THOMPSON Senoia residents will get to participate in something Monday that's been a rarity this fall a City Council meeting. Interested spectators who showed up last Monday to attend the council's regular meeting discovered that it had been cancelled. According to City Clerk Debbie Hogan, the reason was jury duty. Mayor Joan Trammell was sequestered in a Newnan courtroom Monday and did not know when she would be released from the jury pool, so the city had to cancel the meeting because a quorum would not be present. With councilmen Darren Ratajski and Pam Youngblood having resigned in the last few months, it left the city with only two council members, Dianne Cleveland and Bob Hannah, and the mayor. If one of the three could not make the meeting, it had to be cancelled because there would not be enough elected officials present to conduct business. But this Monday, there should be a full slate in attendance. With Tuesday's election now complete, Robert Belisle and Bill Wood will be sworn in Monday to replace the resigning councilpersons. Newly-elected mayor Dianne Cleveland, Robert Hannah and Patrick Tunnell will be sworn in during the council's first meeting in January. Monday's meeting starts at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
