Southwest Christian Hospice Fund Raiser

By Janet McGregor

Southwest Christian Hospice, located in south Fulton, began providing care to terminally ill patients and their families in 1983. In 1987 it opened its inpatient facility, becoming the first full service in patient/homecare hospice in the State of Georgia.

There is no charge to patients and their families. The Hospice, which now includes the children's Hope House, is dependent upon gifts and donations from individuals, churches, civic groups, businesses and foundations.

In December, former First Lady Barbara Bush will be the featured speaker at the 9th Annual Southwest Christian Hospice Donor Banquet to benefit the Hope House.

The gala evening is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Cobb Galleria Centre. The theme of the evening is "Celebrating Our Special Way of Caring." Tickets to the event are $100, ten to a table. For information call 770-969-8354 or email at information@swchospice.org or visit www.swchospice.org.
