Night School registration underway in Fulton County schools

McClarin High School in South Fulton is offering nine-week night classes.

Registration is now underway for classes that begin Nov. 12.

Priority is given to juniors and seniors currently enrolled in Fulton County high schools who need to make up failed classes and to Fulton County residents aged 16 to 21 who are not currently enrolled in school.

Sophomores, students enrolled in schools outside the Fulton County School System, and Fulton County students wishing to take additional high school courses may attend on a space-available basis.

Night school students must have completed at least one full year of high school, and may earn up to three Carnegie units per year in night school.

Courses are offered in mathematics, language arts, social studies, science, and two electives (finance and child psychology). All students must adhere to a strict attendance policy. The cost for in-system students is $160 per half Carnegie unit. Out-of-system students pay $360 per 1/2 Carnegie unit. There is no cost for Fulton County residents aged 16-21 who are not currently enrolled in school.

In-system students register with their home school counselors. Out-of-system students and those not currently attending school should register at McClarin High, 3605 Main St., College Park.

For information, call McClarin High at
404-669-8080, or the school system's Continuing Education Department at 404-669-8057.
