School board to honor veterans

The November pre-board work session of the Fulton County Board of Education will be Tuesday, Nov. 6, 5 p.m., at the school system's Administrative Center, 786 Cleveland Ave., SW, Atlanta.

The work session begins with a presentation to Fulton County veterans. Twelve former Fulton County students who withdrew from school in order to join the military in World War II have been invited to receive honorary diplomas. The board will sponsor a reception for the veterans and their guests beginning at 4 p.m.

The board's legislative meeting will be Thursday, Nov. 8, 7 p.m. at Dunwoody Springs Elementary School, 8100 Roberts Drive, Atlanta.

That meeting will be preceded by a 5 p.m. workshop to receive information on enrollment projections and the capital building program. This continues a discussion begun last month at the October board workshop. The board will adjourn into executive session at 6 p.m., prior to the regularly scheduled 7 p.m. meeting.
