TDK Blvd. extension design needs work

The extension of TDK Boulevard has hit a snag in the design process, but it still appears to be a viable project.

The city will spend another $30,000 for more design work since a conflict has been discovered between the alignment of the road and the spillway for the proposed Lake McIntosh reservoir. The project, if completed, would link Peachtree City to western Coweta County, creating another avenue for employees to commute to the city's industrial park.

City officials hope the road would help alleviate traffic congestion near the intersection of Ga. Highways 54 and 74.

City Engineer Troy Besseche said the flow numbers provided by the county will be crucial in determining the appropriate design for the road.
