New Eagle's ceremony set for Monday
Chris Jagstadt, 13, of Fayetteville, has two goals to become an Eagle Scout and to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy. Jagstadt will achieve the first goal this Monday when he is honored in an Eagle Scout ceremony at 7:30 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church, Fayetteville. To earn Scouting's highest award, Jagstadt had to earn 21 merit badges, serve as a leader i his troop and complete a major community service project. He has earned 29 badges and, for his project, enlarged an outdoor worship area at Providence. He led numerous Scouts and adults in the project, building eight more benches, a set of steps and a path leading to the area, so the church can accommodate outdoor services and functions. A member of Troop 201 since 1999, Jagstadt recently completed Junior Leadership Training and is a member of the Order of the Arrow. He is an eighth grader at Bedford School, the son of Karl and Dee Jagstadt.
