Authority making plans to renovate old offices of PTC amphitheater By JOHN
MUNFORD
The Peachtree City Development Authority is planning to renovate the former offices of the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater. Currently, amphitheater staff work out of the nearby Recreation Department building. The old office building is currently occupied only by the Southern Conservation Trust, which would have to move out for a period of time for the renovations to be completed. Development Authority and city officials have been negotiating the time frame with SCT, which currently leases the space from the city for $1 a year. Once the renovations are complete, SCT will still have space at the building, likely with their own separate entrance. The renovation plans are currently in the design process. Previously, officials have indicated that the structure needs significant electrical and plumbing work. But the goal is also to have two ticket windows at the exterior for selling tickets to the public. Another item on the wish list is a patio so the authority can host functions there such as industrial prospects when necessary.
