Fairburn to celebrate heritage Saturday

Hundreds of fun-loving folks are expected to descend on Fairburn this weekend for one of the town's great traditions.

The Old Campbell County Homecoming is this Saturday in the South Fulton city. Activities are planned from the early morning to the afternoon and feature something for all the family members.

Events this year include:

A 5K and 10K road race at 8 a.m.

An open house at the historic courthouse from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A parade starting at 10 a.m.

Arts, crafts, foods and concessions from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Entertainment at the festival starts at noon and features a variety of choices including line dancing, singers, jazz dancers, excerpts from the community production of "Godspell" and a bluegrass band.

Historical displays in the courthouse all day long.

Special homecoming sales at all the downtown Fairburn merchants.
