PTC Planning Commission to study development plan review process By JOHN
MUNFORD
The Peachtree City Planning Commission will begin taking a look in the mirror, so to speak, at its regular meeting Monday night. City staff have asked the commission to begin reviewing the process by which development plans are approved for the city. The review will take place over several meetings, with possible ordinance changes recommended by city staff, according to Jim Williams, the city's director of developmental services. One possible change in the works involves the city possibly taking over covenant enforcement in subdivisions developed by Pathway Communities. Pathway officials have notified the city that they will not be able to enforce the covenant restrictions as strictly as they have in the past and the city may be interested in performing that role. The final decision on that matter will be left to the City Council. The commission will also take up two other items: a concept plan for a office-warehouse building and a landscape plan for a Kentucky Fried Chicken/Pizza Hut Express restaurant which will be located in the Kedron Village retail center. The commission will also hear a presentation on the work performed by a citizen's advisory committee to develop an alternative transportation plan for the West Village area.
