South Fulton cities set elections

It will be a busy election season this fall in South Fulton County with all three cities conducting municipal elections.

In Fairburn, Mayor Betty Hannah faces opposition from Michael Johnson and Roger Bussell. The city also will conduct council elections. Three positions will be filled from a slate of three incumbents: Roy Farr, Glenn Higgins, and Harvey Melear, and political newcomer Marion Johnson.

In Union City, Mayor Ralph Moore faces opposition from Larry Waits. Incumbent councilmen Barbara Bohannon and Shirley Jackson qualified to run for their seats, along with Roger Dukes and Milton Foster.

In Palmetto, incumbent councilmen Bill Burnham, John Farr and James Harber face opposition from Bonnie Holmes and Willie Reese.

The election is set for Nov. 6.
