Cancer walk set for Saturday

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is sponsoring its Light The Night Cancer Walk this Saturday at Shakerag Knoll in Peachtree City. Registration is at 6 p.m. and the walk begins at 7 p.m.

Balloons will be available for participants in three colors red in honor of someone else, white if you have or had cancer, and blue in commemoration of the recent national crisis.

A $25 registration fee will get each participant a red or white luminated balloon. All proceeds go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. There is no fee to carry a blue balloon and it is not illuminated.

Organizers stress that this is a casual walk, and people are encouraged to come out on their golf carts (decorated in red, white and blue if they like). There will be plenty of food, children's activities and live musical entertainment.
