Sharpsburg festival will go on By MICHAEL
BOYLAN
Coweta County will be a busy place over the next week as the county hosts its share of festivals and entertaining performances. Old Town Sharpsburg will host its 17th annual Fall Festival Sept. 15-16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entertainment, music, clogging, antiques, arts and crafts and barbecue are planned. There will even be a 9 a.m. worship service available Sunday. Phone 770-253-4446, 678-423-0101 or 770-252-9400. For those more interested in storytelling, the Manget-Brannon Alliance for the Arts, off the square in downtown Newnan, will host "Dementia, Delirium and Melancholy: Quotations, Observations and Lamentations" with Stuart Perry and Edward Canada. Both Perry and Canada are well known around Newnan for their forays into the arts. Perry has written several short stories and Canada has performed with Newnan Community Theatre on several occasions. The content of the show is a mystery but an adults only policy is suggested. The show will be one night only, Saturday, Sept. 15, with a brief reception before the show at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be $3 at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Manget-Brannon Alliance for the Arts. The annual Coweta County Fair will also return soon. The fair, sponsored by the Coweta County Kiwanis Club, has a new home. The new fairgrounds are off Pine Road and the fair will run from Tuesday, Sept. 18-Saturday, Sept. 22. There will be rides, games, entertainment, exhibits, festival foods and more.
