New Walden Park areas underway

Developer Stephen H. Macauley has announced plans for work to begin in four new residential sections in Walden Park, The Macauley Companies' new master-planned community in South Fulton County.

Nesbitt Lord & Company, one of the members of the TownPark Custom Builders Group working in Walden Park, is introducing a new product in the community1s Interlude neighborhood. The home builder is beginning work on 33 upscale ranch-styled homes priced from the mid $250,000s. A number of basement lots are available in this section.

The TownPark Custom Builders, who are building in the Marquee neighborhood, will begin construction on Garland Circle, a new section which has several wooded homesites. Twenty-five new homesites will be available in this area, which will have homes priced from the $300,000s to the $500,000s. Other members of the TownPark Custom Builders, in addition to Nesbitt Lord & Company, are Homebuilders Construction Inc. and Covenant Builders International Inc.

The two builders in the Serenade neighborhood have both started work in new phases. Ryland Homes, which has homes priced from the high $160,000s to the low $200,000s, currently has 15 homesites available in this section with 73 lots coming on board in November. Sharon McSwain Homes, which is producing homes in the low $170,000s to the mid $190,000s, has 18 homesites available.

Located on West Stubbs Road between Butner Road and Cascade Palmetto Highway, Walden Park is a mixed-use development which can also be described as environment-friendly, pedestrian-friendly and children friendly. Homes in the community are priced from the $160,000s to the $600,000s.

The 591-acre development is the first master-planned community in South Fulton County and is one of the Macauley organization's trademark TownPark planned developments. The land plan for the community includes a wide variety of housing choices, police and fire facilities, the TownMarket area with a retail complex within walking distance of the residential neighborhoods, and the Walden Park Family Club with its extensive recreational facilities.

The amenities area consists of the Walden Park Grand Clubhouse, which has a social room with a fireplace; open-air pavilion; and patios overlooking the swimming pool in the aquatic center. Also in the Family Club area are the Jubilee Amphitheater, a children1s play center, a basketball court, a volleyball court, a tennis center, and a village green.

The developer's TownPark plan for Walden Park includes 200 plus acres of land devoted to parks and open space. Included in this environmentally friendly community is a conservation easement of 160 acres granted to The Nature Conservancy.
