New phase of Misty Lake underway

The marketing effort has begun in Unit IV, the 64-homesite final phase of Misty Lake, an upscale community in the Ellenwood section of south DeKalb County.

A strategic alliance of three metro south-based real estate firms is conducting the marketing program. Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty's Tri-County/Riverdale office is heading up the effort, in cooperation with Burgess Realty and Coldwell Banker Cascade Realty.

Coldwell Banker Bullard's representative in the community is Kevin Smith, who entered real estate with the Bullard organization three years ago.

Located on River Road, which runs off Bouldercrest Road, Misty Lake is convenient to three interstate highways, being only three minutes from I-285, four minutes from I-675, and five minutes from I-20. The community is a 10-minute drive from Hartsfield International Airport and a 15-minute drive from downtown Atlanta. Misty Lake is in the Cedar Grove school district.

The Misty Lake community was begun about eight years ago, and the initial work on the final phase got underway about a year ago. Homes in the final phase are priced from the low $200,000s to the high $200,000s.

The homesites in the new section are sized from 13,000 sq. ft. to 30,000 sq. ft. and 11 of the lots are approximately one acre in size. Unit IV has 13 lake lots, which are generally larger than the other homesites in the community.

Unit IV homes in Misty Lake contain a long list of upscale features, including ceramic tile and marble in the foyer, kitchen and baths; hardwood floors; a jacuzzi tub with a separate shower in the master bath; built-in microwave oven; white and oak cabinets; and extensive trim packages including crown molding and trim and chair rail.

The exteriors in Unit IV feature either full European stucco or three sides brick.

More information about homes in Misty Lake's final phase can be obtained by calling Kevin Smith at 770-907-1406, ext. 228.

The homes in Unit IV are being constructed by two well-known home building firms, Skill Construction & Development Inc. and Amstar Builders Inc. Both builders have an experience team which includes sub-contractors who have worked with them for a long time.

Skill Construction, headquartered in Rex, is headed by Rowland (Ron) Allen, an Atlanta native who comes from a family background in the building field and who has been associated with construction for over 25 years. Skill Construction was started in 1992 and has built homes in the exclusive Belair Estates in DeKalb County and in Red Oak Woods in south Fulton County and Emerald North in DeKalb County.

AmStar Builders Inc., headed by James A. Jones Sr., has been building homes since 1989. A semi-custom builder, the company has produced homes ranging in price from the $80,000s to the $300,000. AmStar has built in Red Oak Woods, Swan Creek, Castle Walk and Robinson Woods in south Fulton; River Terrace, King's Ridge and Cherry Hill in Clayton County; and French Village in Coweta County.

The two companies will also be building in Eagle Pass, a 96-lot community in Union City. Located off Hwy. 138, this community will have homes priced from $120,000 to $160,000. In addition, Skill Construction and AmStar are planning to build in another upscale community which will be located in south Fulton County.
