The town of Brooks will have an election Tuesday, Nov. 6, with two council seats and mayor up for reelection.

Qualifying is today through Friday and the fee is $15.

Current Mayor Bobby Butler has stated that he will be a candidate. He has served 13 years in that position.

Post 1, currently held by Caroline Smith, will be up for grabs. She has served for 13 years in the post and said, "I'm glad to have helped Brooks come into a new century while maintaining its rural concept. The town has come a long way, by way of the Water Department improvements, the expansion of recreational facilities and the development of the town central district. I feel real good about the future of the town, but I also feel it's time give the seat up."

Post 2 is currently held by Jackie Carson, who will be qualifying for the post again. "There are a few things on my agenda I would like to see through to completion," she said.

Post 4 is held by Daniel C. Langford Jr. and Post 5 is held by Mike Hanson. Those posts will come up for election in two years.
