"It's the most unbelievable thing I've ever seen."

That sums up the reaction of most of Manhattan yesterday as they watched the twin towers of the World Trade Center come crumbling down after a terrorist attack.

Dylan Chandler, a friend of this reporter who lives at 400 West 43rd St., said he witnessed the second attack by a plane live from his balcony near the site of the attack.

Chandler, along with his father, Jack, heard the explosion of the first plane, and rushed to the balcony to see the source of the explosion.

As they watched the first tower go up in smoke, they noticed a second plane approach the adjoining tower.

"We saw it ... it just smashed right into it," he said.

Shortly after the twin explosions, the buildings collapsed onto themselves and sent debris raining to the streets below.

Chandler, who has lived in Manhattan all his life, was almost in shock after the attacks.

"We've seen those buildings from our balcony for years, and now they're gone. It's just unreal," he said.
