Tennant expected to return at next PTC Council meeting By JOHN
MUNFORD
Peachtree City Councilman Dan Tennant expects to be back in attendance at the next City Council meeting Sept. 6. Tennant, citing business commitments, has missed the past three regular meetings in addition to another regular meeting back in May. During Tennant's absence, council has handled two crucial issues for the city's future a retooling of the city budget and preparations for the projects that will be considered by voters in November on the bond referendum. In comparison, only one of Tennant's fellow council members has missed a regular meeting this year: Annie McMenamin, who couldn't make the May 3 meeting. Council members Carol Fritz and Steve Rapson, along with Mayor Bob Lenox, have perfect attendance at meetings this year. Tennant said he hasn't received any complaints about his absences; he alerted the public he would miss a few meetings in a letter to the editor in The Citizen several weeks ago. Tennant told The Citizen this week that he doesn't anticipate missing any more meetings this year. "The bottom line is that due to unforeseen circumstances and some very complicated and important business matters in my company, my presence was simply required elsewhere on those meeting nights," Tennant said. "I am sure virtually everyone can understand that these things happen in life, and I appreciate the continued warmth, kindness and support of the Peachtree City community."
