Foundation names new directors

Edward J. Bonn, CHE, president and CEO of Southern Regional Medical Center, has appointed Sabina Hutcheson as executive director of SRMC's Foundation and Shane Short as associate director.

The two will coordinate the Foundation's fundraising efforts, which include the annual Crescent Classic Golf Tournament, to be held Oct. 22 at Lake Spivey Golf Club, and Southern Regional's annual Crescent Ball.

Hutcheson, who has been serving as interim director, will be responsible for all Foundation programs and initiatives. Short will work with her on the implementation and expansion of fundraising projects, including special events and other community activities.

"I am very pleased to have such talented individuals to lead our Foundation fundraising efforts," says Bonn.

Both bring a wealth of experience to their respective positions.

Before joining Southern Regional in April of 2000, Hutcheson served as director of foundation operations at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, manager of special events at the American Red Cross and executive director of Atlanta Leukemia Research, Inc.

Short, former senior coordinator for SRMC's Public Relations and Marketing Department, was previously employed by the Henry County Board of Commissioners and is currently active in community affairs as Mayor Pro-tem for the City of Forest Park.
