PTC awards "Rotarian of the Year"

The Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Peachtree City recently chose Carolyn Wilkinson "Rotarian of the Year" for 2000-2001.

A member of the PTC Rotary since December of 1998, Wilkinson has in that short time become an extremely active and valuable member of the organization.

The outgoing Rotary President ultimately selects the Rotarian of the Year, but it is with the input of all Rotarians in the club. Wilkinson was chosen because of her willingness to step in wherever needed, either at the President's request or that of a fellow member, and her ability to accomplish whatever task was given to her.

This past year Wilkinson was instrumental in initiating the "Laws of Life" essay contest at J.C. Booth Middle School. A former teacher, she participated in the vocational services segment of the club, actively chairing the Four Way Test Partnership in Education and Character Education Committees. Additionally, Wilkinson contributed many hours in helping the Scrapbook Committee assemble an extensive scrapbook to be presented at the District Convention, and was involved with the Literacy Committee's "Operation Outreach" program.

Wilkinson is owner of a quilting and home decorating company in Peachtree City.
