A Peachtree City man has been arrested for assaulting another man with a baseball bat at Harmony Village Apartments.

Gerald Benjamin, 30, of Peachtree City, was arrested Aug. 14 for aggravated assault and burglary. Police say he entered an apartment at Harmony Village where Darrell A. Black of Newnan was staying and struck him with the bat.

Benjamin struck Black with the bat while he was in a bed on Wednesday, Aug. 8, DuPree said.

The assault stemmed from a domestic incident that had occurred earlier, said Maj. Mike DuPree of the Peachtree City Police Department. The burglary charge was for entering the apartment to commit a crime, DuPree added.

The case is still under investigation, DuPree said.
