Smithfield Estates in first phase

The roadwork is nearly completed for the first phase of Smithfield Estates, Jerry Ballard Homes' new community in Henry County

"The roads are cut and the drainage system is in place," said Ray Rogerson, vice president/operations of Jerry Ballard Homes. "We are now starting to lay the curb and gutters, and we expect home construction to start in August and pre-sales to close by the end of the year."

Smithfield Estates, located on East Lake Road, which runs of Hwy. 155, abuts the property where Union Grove High and Middle Schools are located and is across the street from the new East Lake Elementary School.

"A student living in our subdivision could walk to school from grades one through 12," commented Rogerson.

Smithfield Estates will be a 69-home community with prices starting in the $150,000s, and the first phase will consist of 24 homesites, each sized at approximately three-quarters of an acre. Two-story, ranch and split foyer designs will be available, and there will be a few homes with basements. Exteriors will be mostly brick or brick with stone accents.

The sales representative in the community is Pat Hagler of Jerry Ballard Realty Inc., who can be contacted by calling 770-461-2164.
