New Neighbors League sets Amnesty Day

The New Neighbors League Club of Peachtree City has announced this year's Amnesty Day, scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 2, at 9:30 a.m. at the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church at 308 Willowbend Road.

Membership in the club is normally open only to people who have lived in the city less than one year. Amnesty Day is an opportunity for residents who moved here more than a year ago to join the club for fun and friendship.

Tricia Cira was selected New Neighbor of the Month for July. Carol Jenkins presented her with the award during the club's July meeting at First Baptist Church.

Tricia and her husband, Steve, moved here from Lima, Ohio, and she joined the club in May of 1999. While serving as second vice president, she helped coordinate a number of club activities, then worked on the prospective membership committee welcoming new members and giving them information regarding meetings.

The New Neighbors League Club brings together new residents to meet and become friends while adjusting to new surroundings. It is a nonprofit social organization with a variety of interest groups and special activities, including monthly meetings and speakers. Activities include tours, luncheons, and other social events.
