Evening class registration is August 1 Students who wish to register for evening classes at the Coweta County Evening High School may do so Aug. 1 and 2. The CCEHS will be housed at the Central Educational Center. Students may register at the high school at which they are currently districted or enrolled. Registration will also be offered at the CEC campus Aug. 6 and 7 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. After Aug. 9, a late registration fee will be charged. Coweta students aged 16-20 who have not earned high school diplomas are eligible to enroll full-time for no tuition. Courses are available in the academic disciplines of mathematics, science, English and social studies. Classes meet for 18 weeks, from 4 - 9:55 p.m., Monday through Thursday. One Carnegie unit will be earned for successful completion of each 18-week course. The Coweta County Evening High School will not issue a diploma but will transfer credit to the student's home high school. An "extended day" option is available so that high school students attending any of the three Coweta high schools can take one extra class at CCEHS, to get back on track for graduation, with approval from their high school counselors. Cost for the extended day option is $300 per course. Out-of-county residents may take courses at the CCEHS for a cost of $500 per course. A refundable $50 book deposit fee and $15 fee for science lab courses may be required. For information phone Lillie Smith at 678-423-2000.
