Peachtree City police have collared two youngsters suspected of committing a rash of home burglaries in Peachtree City last week.

Garvey Imhotep, 17, of Atlanta and a juvenile were arrested July 13 for four counts of burglary and one count of automobile theft. The pair burglarized four homes in Peachtree City two days before, taking jewelry, firearms, checks and an automobile, according to police.

A 1999 black Mercedes was taken from one of the residences, according to warrants taken for Imhotep's arrest. Two handguns were stolen from another home, the warrants indicated.

Two of the burglaries took place in the Braelinn Green subdivision; the other locations were a home in the Greensway subdivision and a home on North Peachtree Parkway.

The break in the case came when the juvenile tried to cash a check that was stolen from one of the homes, according to police. Detectives were alerted and responded to the Peachtree National Bank Braelinn Branch, police said.

Imhotep was later located in Atlanta operating the stolen vehicle, police said. The case is still under investigation, according to police.
