Head-on wreck with tree injures four local youths
By JOHN
MUNFORD
Four youths were injured late Saturday night when their car ran off Northlake Drive and struck a tree head-on, according to reports from the Peachtree City Fire Department. The Honda Civic "was totally destroyed," said Peachtree City Fire Chief Stony Lohr. Andrew Cyrus had multi-system trauma and was flown by Life Net helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital, Lohr said. He was later transferred to Southern Regional Medical Center although a family member requested his condition not be released Thursday morning. The other victims, Jonathan Spencer, Nicholas Yebba and James Strausbaugh were taken to Southern Regional, where they were later released. All four victims were outside of the vehicle when paramedics arrived, Lohr said. A police report on the accident was not available by press time Thursday afternoon. "I think they were very lucky," Lohr said. The accident occurred on Northlake Drive across from one of the rear entrances to the Aberdeen shopping center, Lohr noted.
