The Bank of Georgia has announced expansion plans with an office in Newnan, Ga.

This will be the second office for The Bank of Georgia, which opened February 2000.

The new office is at 471 U.S. Highway 29, near the corner of Millard Farmer Boulevard and Hwy. 29. The new branch is open for business as of July 9.

"We are thrilled with the response and support of the communities we serve. Our Newnan office will not only be of great convenience to our present customers but will allow us to serve more customers in the Newnan area," said Pat Shepherd, president and CEO of The Bank of Georgia.

The former Newnan Savings Bank building, now The Bank of Georgia, has been renovated and refurbished.

Jackie Parker will be the branch manager of the office and Jo Bishop, currently at the Fayetteville office, will be the Head Teller.

"Both of these bankers have extensive banking experience and the commitment of putting customers first," commented Mickey Godwin, Executive Vice President of The Bank of Georgia.

The Bank of Georgia is a locally owned and managed, full-service community bank serving Fayette and Coweta counties. Founded by local business and community leaders, the bank has experienced phenomenal growth and record-setting benchmarks in asset growth and profitability, said Shepherd.
