Cable company offers automated bill pay AT&T Broadband®, metropolitan Atlanta's primary provider of Broadband services, has announced that it recently began offering new automated payment options for customers. Customers are now able to pay their monthly bills for cable TV, high-speed Internet and digital telephone services via telephone or the Internet using a credit card, Visa/MasterCard bank or check card or by electronic check. In the near future, the company also will invite customers to make payments using their ATM cards. The automated services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week using the company's new customer service number for billing questions, 678-545-2455 (BILLS). Regular business hours for this number are 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday - Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. The billing department is closed on Sundays, but automated payment options are available at any time. Customers will also be able to pay their bills using the Internet by visiting https://www.paybyinternet.com/attb. The site is secure and safe for making financial transactions. The new payment options are completely automated. AT&T Broadband says there will be a charge of $1.50 per transaction for the option to pay your bill by phone or Internet. "Automated payment options are simply another way we are trying to make it easy and convenient for customers to reach us," said Steve White, senior vice president for the company's Atlanta Region. "On June 29, we introduced five new customer service numbers for our Atlanta customers. These options give customers even greater flexibility in paying their bill quickly, efficiently and safely at anytime of the day or night without ever leaving home." Automated payment options are provided through PhoneCharge Inc. of Glen Cove, N.Y., a customer service company that created the program. On average, PhoneCharge officials say the automated transaction takes no more than approximately two minutes to complete. "We believe that AT&T Broadband-Atlanta is among the first cable television companies in the world to offer this type of expanded bill payment menu via a simple and automated system," said Peter A. Bobley, president of Phone Charge. "PhoneCharge is proud to be a partner with AT&T Broadband in bringing this new convenience to customers." Bobley said PhoneCharge was selected by the Internal Revenue Service to supply a similar system for the payment of federal income taxes.
