State-funded paving projects approved

Georgia Transportation Commissioner Tom Coleman has approved preparation of contracts to resurface 11.8 miles on 19 roads in Fayette County, six streets in Fayetteville, six streets in Peachtree City and three streets in Tyrone.

Funding comes from the state Department of Transportation's Local Assistance Road Program, a resurfacing program initiated in 1978 to help local governments maintain their roads.

Construction on the projects can begin when contracts have been signed and work orders issued.

  • Brierwood Court .12 mile from Brierwood Drive to dead end.
  • Brierwood Drive .41 mile from Callaway Road to Shelby Lane.
  • Cherokee Place .33 mile from Old Senoia road to dead end.
  • Creekwood Lane .2 mile from Adams Road to dead end.
  • Downybrook Lane .29 mile from Stoneridge Way to Brookwood Lane.
  • Firethorn Lane .44 mile from Merrydale Drive to dead end.
  • Goodman Road .38 mile from Lowery Road to dead end.
  • Hartford Place .07 mile from Brandon Mill Circle to dead end.
  • Hickory Road .73 mile from Ga. Highway 92 to New Hope Church Road.
