Gatheridge named Realtor of the Year

The Fayette County Board of Realtors presented its annual Realtor of the Year award to Michaele Gatheridge of RE/MAX Results at its "June Jam 2001" general membership meeting.

Michaele was completely surprised and overcome with emotion as the tears flowed freely down her cheeks. "I had no idea," she commented.

Last year's recipient, Martha Hayhurst of Coldwell Banker Fulton Realty, presented the award to Gatheridge noting her years of dedicated service to the Fayette County Board of Realtors and the real estate profession.

Gatheridge has served on numerous committees and co-chaired events such as Noel November and GARPAC.

The Awards Committee met last month to consider all candidates, which are nominated by their peers. Other nominees for Realtor of the Year were Dave Edmondson, Century 21 Southern Crescent; Joanie Keller, Kenny Johnson Homes; Terri Kellerman, C21 Southern Crescent; Connie King, ERA Jo-Par Realty; and Linda Nettleton, The Home Source Realtors.

Nominees are qualified based on their business achievements and contributions and their Realtor spirit, which includes faithfulness to the laws and regulations of the National Association of Realtors' Code of Ethics as well as the furtherance of principles of good real estate practice among other brokers and the general public. Civic activity, local board, state and national association activity is also considered for candidates nominated for this award.

Gatheridge is now among those who will be considered for the state award at the Georgia Association of Realtors' annual convention to held this September at the Grove Park Inn and Resort in Asheville, N.C.
