Twin Lakes could sell soon By JOHN
THOMPSON
The city of Senoia could see a major development come to fruition after nearly 12 years of starts and stops. Twin Lakes subdivision stands partially built on Rockaway Road. Several years ago, nearly 800 acres was zoned as a Planned Unit Development and city leaders have maintained the development could reshape the city. Monday night, Chris Cooper, representing the Mullen Group, told the City Council that his property management company is actively trying to sell the property. The property has been tangled up in the legal dealings of owner Amir Virani, but Cooper said Virani is ready to sell the property. During the next few months, Cooper said his group will work with the city's Planning and Zoning Commission to make sure everything is in place as far as zoning ordinances are concerned, so potential buyers won't have any problems. Members of the City Council did not have any questions for Cooper, but Councilman Bob Hannah said he's sure he will have questions as the process continues. If the property is built as planned, it could add hundreds of houses to Senoia, along with a commercial shopping district.
