Report says the water's fine

Water produced by the Fayette County Water System continues to meet or exceed state and federal standards for levels of contamination, according to a report released last week.

The consumer confidence report, required periodically by the federal Environmental Protection Agency, shows that levels of copper, fluoride, lead, nitrate and nitrite, turbidity, trihalomethanes and coliform are within acceptable standards.

People who are more vulnerable to contaminants due to medical problems should get advice about drinking water from their physicians.
