Losing 17 inches of her pony tail was almost a relief to Ashleigh Webster of Peachtree City.

The donation represented the last ten years of her life.

"It would get caught in car doors," said the 13-year-old, "plus I have a 6-year-old cousin who has cancer and she lost her hair. There is a company in Florida that accepts pony tails and I thought maybe my hair would help someone."

Locks of Love is in Palm Springs, Fla. and accepts hair that is at least 10 inches long. It is turned into hairpieces for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments.

The event was at Great Clips East in Peachtree City and Fayette countian Susanne Goss did the cutting.

Ashleigh is the daughter of Bill and Victoria Webster.
