Flaring tempers lead to arrests at Burger King By JOHN
MUNFORD
A Riverdale man and a Hampton teen have been arrested for assaulting two people in the parking lot of the Burger King in Fayetteville late Thursday evening. It was the third incident in two months that has drawn police to the restaurant. Two armed robberies were reported at the store near its closing time over the past two months. According to arrest warrants in this latest incident, Guy Aundrey Gladden of Riverdale attempted to stab or cut two people with a knife during the altercation just after 10:40 p.m. Neither of the victims was hurt after the incident, which occurred while the parties involved were "hanging out" in the parking lot, according to Fayetteville Police Lt. Beverly Trainor. The incident began as a verbal dispute when one person overheard a derogatory remark made by the other, Trainor said. Gladden was arrested for two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime. A 16-year-old juvenile was also arrested on the scene and charged with simple battery for his role in the incident, Trainor said. The juvenile was released to his father's custody later, she added. That case will be disposed of in Fayette County Juvenile Court, she said.
