More quality places for all ye 'Fayette Foodies'

This month, I'm happy to report that two more quality "foodie" places have arrived in Fayette County.

Harry's in a Hurry opened recently in The Avenue shopping center in Peachtree City. After years of making long treks to the north side of town, food lovers now have the quality and service of Harry's in their hometown.

The store is a small-scale version of the much larger Harry's Farmers Market, but for my money, everything you need is at the store.

Fresh-baked breads, cheeses from around the world, deli meats from some of the great stores in New York City are just a few of the items that will have foodies beating a path to Peachtree City.

The Peachtree City Harry's is the largest mini-Harry's in the metro area and is fast becoming a spot for time-strapped commuters to stop by and pick up the evening meal.

Harry's prepared foods are all prepared fresh daily. The menu constantly changes, so you may have chicken cordon bleu one day and turkey lasagna the next.

The store also offers unique food items from around the world including Belgian chocolate, Italian olive oils and spices to liven up any dish.

The second opening is Martini's, a new after work establishment in the old Rosemary Cafe location in Westpark Walk. The restaurant is one of the nicest spaces in Peachtree City; lots of wood, cool accent lighting and smooth jazz playing on the sound system.

The restaurant features only appetizers with such selections as fried mushrooms, calamari and scallops wrapped in bacon.

The service is impeccable and this has the feel of a true big-city place. It's very cool and hip and I hope the residents recognize the quality of this little independent operation and show the owners that Fayette County is ready for this type of establishment.
