Wednesday, June 13, 2001 Piedmont wins 'Street of Dreams' award Piedmont Homes Inc. was awarded the Best of Show professional award for the Weatherby in the Street of Dreams showcase at Arbor Springs Plantation. "It was a great honor to be picked by such a distinguished panel of judges for the Best of Show award," said John Higgins, president of Piedmont Homes. The Weatherby also won the Best Interior Design award. "We aimed to build the dream home that would appeal to everyone and we achieved that goal," said Higgins. "We wanted to create a home no one would want to leave or need to leave." Some of the features included a gourmet kitchen, opulent master suite, and state-of-the-art home theater with a 105-inch viewing screen and "professional sound that was better than being at the movies," according to Higgins.
