Get involved!

By DR. KNOX HERNDON
Pastor

I know we all receive information on the Internet, some of which should go immediately into the garbage bin from whence it started and some of which should go into our hearts and into our "action bins."

Personally I feel this is worth repeating and acting upon. This is a newsletter I receive which I have discovered does give factual, worthwhile information. This, (in my most humble opinion; my wife says I have no humble opinions; I wonder where she gets these ideas) is justthe tip if the iceberg I'm sure.

God bless the Boy Scouts for having the moral courage to stand up to the homosexual juggernaut in the media and with certain senators in this country. Look what just one Madeline O'Hare did for America.

"Dear TVC Friend,

"I need you to join me today in making your voice heard in Washington, D.C.! I have just posted three new petitions on the Internet that you will want to sign immediately and forward to your friends.

"The petitions all involve S. 1, the hugely complex education bill that was originally the Bush education reform package. It has since been hijacked by senators Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, Jim Jeffords and others like them who have added dangerous pro-homosexual and anti-Christian provisions.

"S. 1 currently contains sections on hate crimes that will promote homosexuality in the public schools. The bill also contains 'safe schools' provisions that promote homosexuality under the guise of protecting homosexual students from discrimination or 'hate-motivated incidents.' In addition, there are no protections in the bill against anti-Christian bigotry. Children who oppose homosexuality on moral grounds will be targeted for retraining to have their attitudes changed.

"Sen. Jesse Helms, R-N.C., is offering an amendment to S. 1 that will deny federal funds to any government agency that forbids the Boy Scouts from using public school or other public facilities. The homosexual lobby wants to punish the Scouts because of its policy banning homosexuals from membership. Helms wants to save the Boy Scouts from discrimination. Here are the titles and links to the three petitions:

"PROTECT THE BOY SCOUTS FROM DISCRIMINATION: http://www.conservativepetitions.com/petition.html?name=helms_boy_scouts .

"The Helms amendment will ban discrimination against the Boy Scouts in the use of public facilities. Please sign this!

"SENATE BILL 1 PROMOTES ANTI-CHRISTIAN BIGOTRY!: http://www.conservativepetitions.com/petition.html?name=S_1_hate_crimes .

"This petition encourages senators to strip any hate crimes language from S. 1. In addition, it urges the senators to add protections against anti-Christian bigotry. If hate crimes language is not removed, homosexual activists will be free to use the force of federal law to actively recruit public school children.

"PRESIDENT BUSH MUST VETO S. 1!:

http://www.conservativepetitions.com/petition.html?name=veto_senate_bill_1 . This petition urges the president to veto S. 1 if it contains any hate crime language and if it contains no protections against anti-Christian bigotry. Please sign these today!

"I'd also encourage you to read TVC's special report on hate crime legislation so you will fully understand the dangers our children face from homosexual activists. Our report, 'Hate Crime Legislation: Unequal Treatment Under The Law' is available at: http://www.traditionalvalues.org/TVCSpecialReportHateCrimes.PDF . Your Voice at the Capitol, the Rev. Louis P. Sheldon, chairman, Traditional Values Coalition."

Always remember no one loves a sinner more than God and that includes a homosexual, but he hates the sin. Jesus forgave the woman brought to him who had been caught in the very act of adultery (I always wondered where the man was); yet, in total compassion, forgave her. But then he uttered extremely important words to her. He said, "Go your way and sin no more."

These are the words that no one wants to remember or hear.
