Mall program puts cash back in schools The Cash Back for Schools program, sponsored by Shannon Mall, has ended as a complete success for local schools. This year's program began last August and awarded a total of $14,800 to eight schools in South Fulton, Coweta and Fayette counties. South Fulton schools receiving funds were: Campbell Elementary School $1,800. Seaborn Lee Elementary $950. Woodland Middle School $750. Creekside High School $700. Ronald McNair Middle School $150. The money awarded to the schools through the program is used to purchase items such as computers, supplies and school improvements. The program offers an opportunity for parents to volunteer and help their children's schools at their own convenience. Providing rewards for shopping at Shannon Mall and encouraging school spirit makes the program a winning situation for everyone involved, said Tiffany Bowers, marketing director for the mall. "The program allow us to help local schools purchase much needed supplies," said Bowers. "One school wrote a letter informing us that they couldn't have bought a much needed computer without their award, and they're already excited about participating next year," she said. The 2001-2002 Cash Back season starts in August.
