Grantville festival is this weekend.

With puppet shows, a Bingo bonanza, live auction, street dance and much more, the June 9 Grantville Day celebration is truly a day for the entire family. The festivities kick off at 10 a.m. with the downtown festival featuring arts and crafts, a wide variety of food, folk art, face painting, pony rides, leather goods, jewelry and the Grantville Senior Center Quilt and Craft Fair.

Highlights of the day include performances by Akbar Imhotep from Atlanta's Center for Puppetry Arts at 11 a.m. and noon in the Grantville Auditorium.

The live auction begins at 2 p.m. outside the historic train depot and the bingo bonanza starts at 4 p.m. with one lucky winner taking home the Grand Prize of 100 gallons of gasoline compliments of Crain Oil.

The complete schedule of events follows:

·10 a.m. - 5 p.m.-Downtown Festival and Grantville Senior Center Quilt and Craft Fair.

·11 a.m and noon- Puppet shows in the Grantville Auditorium: Adults $3/Kids $2. The event is sponsored by Raptis Homes' Calico Corners

·1 - 2 p.m.-Grantville Community Choir and Friends, performance at the Depot

·2-3:30 p.m.-Live auction by James Baggett Auctions outside the Depot.

·4-6:00 p.mm-bingo bonanza at Carey Hall, Main St - 10 games. Grand Prize is 100 gallons from Crain Oil. $10 donation

·6-10 p.m.-Downtown street dance featuring Buddy Broach & The Good Time Band sponsored by Jerry Ballard Homes' Canterbury Springs.
