Blaze guts home at Marnelle Sunday By JOHN MUNFORD jmunford@TheCitizenNews.com A local family's residence in Marnelle Mobile Home Park was destroyed by fire May 27. It took firefighters over an hour to get the blaze under control, said Capt. Pete Nelms of the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services. The fire likely started some time before it was reported by neighbors in the area, Nelms added. The Red Cross provided emergency shelter to the family at the local Holiday Inn Express, Nelms said.
