Ohio wreck fatal to PTC mom, twins By JOHN MUNFORD
A head-on auto accident on I-75 in Ohio Monday afternoon claimed the lives of three Peachtree City residents. Nancy Hinkle and her twin 4-year-old daughters, Emily and Elizabeth, were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to a dispatcher for the Ohio Highway Patrol. Her husband, Gary, survived the accident and was flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He was listed in serious condition Tuesday afternoon, according to a hospital spokeswoman. The Hinkles were traveling south on the interstate when a sport utility vehicle heading north crossed the 60-foot median and struck their 1999 Buick Park Avenue head-on during a period of heavy rain, the dispatcher said. The driver, Gerrad Rushlow, 19, of Newport, Mich., told police his 1996 Ford Explorer hydroplaned, causing it to veer off the roadway. The accident occurred approximately 29 miles north of Cincinnati, near the town of Lebanon. It is not known if charges will be filed against Rushlow, the dispatcher noted. That decision will be left up to prosecutors and the investigating trooper, Kevin Bryant, she said.
