Fairbanco name change announced

In an attempt to select a name that best reflects what it has become, Fairburn Banking Company has become 1st Community Bank.

Bank Chairman and President Robert W. "Bob" Fuller Jr. said that "as a true community bank serving multiple communities within our area, it is appropriate time to adopt a new name ... for an old friend."

Founded in 1891, the bank will not be changing ownership, management or staff. Fuller also said that the current accounts, financial service and loan offerings of the bank will remain unchanged as well.

He added that customers would only notice the signs changing and the new logo on forms and documents.

"When our customers reorder supplies such as checks, the new documents will reflect our new name. Until such time that a customer's supplies are exhausted, it's perfectly fine to continue using old supplies. After all, we're the same bank we have always been."

Fuller also announced the bank has drawn plans and is well under construction for its newest banking location in Newnan.
