Christian City seeks volunteers

Christian City, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing for the needs of children, the aged and infirm, seeks volunteers in a variety of capacities.

Volunteer positions include:

Life Enrichment (volunteer chaplains, bible study leaders, church service volunteers).

Support Services (transportation, beauty shop, corner store/ice cream parlor, the library, information desk, arts and crafts (craft class leaders, painting classes and others).

Resident Visitors interested in "adopting" five or more residents to visit on a regular basis.

Volunteer Leaders that can lead story telling, nature walks, gardening activities, music and more.

The 400+ acre Christian City complex is located in Union City and helps to meet the needs of more than 1,100 people in the Home for Children, Convalescent Center, Alzheimer's Care facility, Sparks Inn Retirement Center/Personal Care and Retirement Homes and Apartments.

Residents include children from troubled and financially distressed families, adults in need of nursing care, personal care and assisted living/personal care, senior citizens on limited income and other seniors who want a safe, secure place to retire.
