Landmark student is national champ A student at Landmark Christian School in Fairburn is a state champion in the National Handwriting Contest, sponsored by Zane-Bloser, publisher of handwriting texts. Georgiana Moody, a student in Jeanne Thomas' fourth grade class and a resident of Newnan, was among the 104,250 students from around the country who participated. Georgiana now competes for the title of national grade level champion and grand national champion. Her entry will be forwarded to Zane-Bloser's master penman, Dr. Clinton Hackney, to be considered for the national honors. A total of 192 state champions, representing 45 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands, will receive framed champions' certificates and engraved rosewood pens. State champions' schools also will receive framed certificates, and their teachers and principals will receive engraved pens as well. From among the state champions, six national grade level champions (one each in grades one through six) will receive $500 savings bonds, special engraved pens and award plaques. In addition, each grade level champion, her principal, parents, teacher and classmates will receive National Handwriting Contest t-shirts.
