Fayette County 4-H'ers stand out at District Project Achievement

The Fayette County 4-H Program participated in District Project Achievement recently, bringing home 14 first place ribbons.

Nineteen Fayette County fifth graders and 25 junior and senior 4-H members spent the day presenting their projects on subjects such as agricultural awareness, entomology, photography and wildlife.

The 4-H'ers were judged according to how well they presented oral presentations based on accuracy of information, coverage of subject matter and knowledge of the subject. Each participant used visual aids and completed the demonstration within the specified time limit.

Fayette County elementary school students performed well, winning 11 first place ribbons, with many other students placing second and third. The following Fayette County fifth graders participated in Cloverleaf DPA:

Christopher Amil, William Baldwin, Abby Biles, Norman Brooks, Kate Childs, Peter Dileo, Jay Duncan, Kelsey Hewitt, Jacob Hume, Elijah James, Katie Jasnic, Saikat Karmakar, Erin Moler, David Noren, Amelia Sargent, Jacklyn Simpson, Jan Sexton, Jeffrey Turner and Austin Wolfe.

Twenty-five junior and senior 4-H'ers participated with three students taking home the blue ribbon. The following Fayette County middle and high school students participated in DPA: Michael Amil, Tania Aurora, Tarun Aurora, Mike Brennison, Misty Edwards, David Gelhardt, Kristine Gelhardt, Bill Hammond, Mac Hill, Michael Jolly, Amy Ladewig, Melani Landerfelt, Sarah Landerfelt, Dan McCarney, Moore, Drake Osterhage, Kristopher Osterhage, Ronak Pattani, Corie Plott, Danielle Ricker, Heather Ricker, Sarah Smith, Sean Smith, Whitney Vail and Kiran Valiani.
