Concert series swings into action By CAROLYN
CARY
The Beat on Main Street, a summer concert series at the Heritage Fountain in Fayetteville, hosted a band concert during the annual Courthouse Art Show. Undaunted by the threat of rain, several hundred local citizens were on hand with their lawn chairs and picnic baskets. Main Street, sponsor of the series, introduced Zoots and the Swingin' Suits. Nancy Price, Main Street director, said that the group was stuck in a time warp, and would be playing songs from the 1940s and 1950s. Many listened and tapped their feet while sitting and many others enjoyed the music by dancing on the Heritage plaza.
