Kiwanis Club makes donation

The Metro Fayette Kiwanis Club recently made its annual contribution to the Christian City Home for Children.

Elizabeth Jones from Christian City accepted the check and gave the club members a briefing on Christian City's children's home. The club raises money throughout the year through efforts such as spaghetti dinners, pancake breakfast, putt-putt golf tournament, a Harley rally and the annual Rose Rodeo, and assisting the Fayette County Kiwanis Club by parking cars at the county fair.

The Metro Fayette Club then donates the money raised to more than 20 organizations that benefit the community. The club has already made contributions to the Fayette County High School chorus and American Cancer Society, and will be contributing to other organizations such as the Sams School, Historical Society and Humane Society in the near future.

The club also will again sponsor the most improved student awards for the Fayette County School System. This annual program recognizes the most improved student from each Fayette County school and gives each student a savings bond to award the achievement.

Club meetings are Tuesdays at noon at IHOP in Fayetteville. For information phone Stephen Ott at 770-632-1170.
