Gold Wing Riders pleased with first show By CAROLYN
CARY
The Gold Wing Road Riders Association Chapter P, Fayetteville, presented its first motorcycle show and more than 100 entrants took part. Among the varied types of bikes entered in the show were Honda Gold Wings, Valkeries, Harleys and Kawasakis. A charge of $5 was made to each entrant with the funds, estimated to be about $850, going to the Pediatric Foundation for Brain Tumors Ride For Kids®. Among those winning first place was Keith Burkingstock, Fayetteville, in the Gold Wing 1200 class, and Barbara Thayer, McDonough, taking first place in both the trike (or side car) class and also Best of Show. Tony's Restaurant on North Glynn Street allowed the group to use its parking lot and donations for prizes came from Cycle City Power Sports in Newnan, the Fayetteville IHOP, and MotoSports Honda and Kawaski, Jonesboro. "For our first venture at holding a motorcycle show, we are very pleased," said committee Chairman Alan Head. "While our chapter benefited from the show, the real benefit will be children with brain tumors."
